Saint Aelred's Pilgrim Trail
This 41-mile trail through the beautiful hills and dales of the North York Moors connects all the historic, rural churches in the Benefice of Helmsley and Upper Ryedale and Rievaulx Abbey. It is dedicated to Saint Aelred, Abbot of Rievaulx 1147-1167.

Aysgarth School Chapel and Heritage Tour
Founded by Rev. Clement Thomas Hales in the village of Aysgarth. This original site proved too small and the new school building at Newton-le-Willows was opened in 1890 as a model of its kind. It houses a listed beautiful arts and craft chapel.
Acle Saxons Re-enactment Camp Gisborough Priory
Acle’s Saxon village demonstrates life just before the founding of Gisborough Priory. Activities include Combat, including ‘kid’s combat’, Cooking, Coin Striking, Weaving, Spinning and Carding, Beekeeping and Beeswax crafts, as well as many others!
All Saints Church, Weston
The ancient church of All Saints is a Grade 1 listed building. Of special interest are the triple decker pulpit and Squire's Parlour, the family pew of the Dawson family, descendants of the Vavasours lords of the manor of Weston.

The Launch Day Gathering Walk for the Saint Aelred’s Pilgrim Trail takes place on the YHCT Ride and Stride Day 14 September 2024. This launch event starts 8.30am at All Saints, Hawnby and walks through picturesque countryside to Rievaulx Abbey

This year's event will be held in St Thomas' Church, focussing on our community in Brompton, past and present. We will feature our Hog back Stones which date back to the Anglo-Danish period (7th to 11th century), which are thought to be grave covers

Harlow Tower
Climb the 100 steps to the top of Harlow Tower. Look out over Harrogate using a pair of naval binoculars. An added attraction is a Foucault's Pendulum that demonstrates that the is Earth turning.
Skipwith Church
St.Helen’s church has national significance for the historical, aesthetic, archaeological and evidential value of this Grade I listed building, the main features being the Anglo-Saxon tower with Recess and Ragnarok stone and Medieval Cross Slabs.
