The Brown Heritage Plaques of Harrogate form a fascinating collection of people and places that have made the celebrated spa town. This is a tour of some selected examples.

The aim of this walking tour is to introduce people to the Brown Heritage Plaques of Harrogate. The route will cover the area of the town centre around Victoria Avenue/Tower Street/ Prince of Wales roundabout/Station Parade, stopping at each plaque to look at who or what it commemorates. Taken together they give an impression of the history of Harrogate and some of the businesses and people that made the town.
