Grove Road Cemetery Walk
Grove Road Cemetery, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG1 5EW
Grove Road Cemetery was opened in 1864 by the newly established Burial Board. The walk looks at some of the monuments of those who made an important contribution to the history of Harrogate, including builders, mayors, administrators, teachers, historians and businessmen. It also looks at graves which illustrate something of the diversity of the people who came to the town, including German and Italian musicians. This tour will also take in a number of military graves.

The walk is level and is on designated paths, although one of these is grassed over. Visitors are asked to avoid getting too close to the monuments. Please bring water, sun-cream, sun-hat, umbrellas, as appropriate on the day.
Grove Road Cemetery is located in a residential area and there are no public facilities available. The nearest refreshments are available at a selection of cafés on Kings Road (approx 1/4 mile walk). The nearest public and accessible toilets, baby changing etc are in Harrogate. Limited on-street parking. Only assistance dogs are permitted in the cemetery,
