This walk explores Harrogate's Grove Road Cemetery, a fine example of a Victorian burial ground, with several impressive and interesting monuments.

Grove Road Cemetery was opened in 1864 by the newly established Burial Board. The walk looks at some of the monuments of those who made an important contribution to the history of Harrogate, including builders, mayors, administrators, teachers, historians and businessmen. It also looks at graves which illustrate something of the diversity of the people who came to the town, including German and Italian musicians. This tour will also take in a number of military graves.
