Visitors will receive an expert-led guided tour of Britain's only surviving commercial 'floor' maltings, explaining how malt is made and why Warminster is the historical centre of the industry.

Warminster Maltings leads the market for the supply of local 'craft' beer with world wide acclaim. Listed Grade II building, dating from 18th century, one of the two remaining traditional 'floor' maltings in the country. The tour will be led by the manager or the owner of the maltings and will explain how a 'floor' maltings works and visitors will be able to see every stage of malt production. Warminster Maltings was awarded a Blue plaque in 2004.

Accessibility details

The maltings is a functioning commercial foodstuffs manufacturer. Wheelchair users can use the back entrance to gain access to the ground floor but there is no wheelchair access to the malting floors upstairs and visitors should also be aware of the uneven ground and floor levels. The site is not really suitable for wheelchair users.
