Privacy & Cookies

Heritage Open Days is committed to the protection of your privacy.

Privacy policy

Heritage Open Days is a festival run by the National Trust; as such we are bound by the National Trust Privacy Policy which can be read here.

We’ll never sell your personal data and will only share it with organisations we work with when it’s necessary and the privacy and security of your data is assured.

All personal information given to us through this website will only be held and used with care and in accordance with this policy and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (from 25 May 2018)/UK Data Protection Act and Privacy of Electronic Communication Regulation.

Your rights

Where we are using your personal data on the basis of consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. You also have the right to ask us to stop using your personal data for direct marketing purposes. If, at any time, you want to update or amend your personal data or marketing preferences please contact us in one of the following ways:

  • Organisers / promoters / coordinators – you can update preferences on your Contact record in the Organiser area
  • Newsletter mailing list – there is an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every message
  • General (or if in doubt) –  contact us by phone / email / letter

Cookie policy

When we provide services, we want to make them easy, useful and reliable. Where services are delivered on the internet, this sometimes involves placing small amounts of information on your device, for example, computer or mobile phone. These include small files known as cookies. They cannot be used to identify you personally. These pieces of information are used to improve services for you through, for example:

  • Enabling a service to recognise your device so you don’t have to give the same information several times during one task
  • Recognising that you may already have given a username and password so you don’t need to do it for every web page requested
  • Measuring how many people are using services, so they can be made easier to use and there’s enough capacity to ensure they are fast

You can manage these small files yourself - the full National Trust policy has more information and links to useful sites to help with this.
