Laurel Vines is a multi-award winning, family-run vineyard and winery in the heart of East Yorkshire within the hamlet of Aike. Established in 2011 by winemaker Ian Sargent and wife Ann with meticulous planning and consideration, 2,000 vines were planted on the site's south-facing rolling slopes. With more than 16,000 vines in the ground and a state of the art winery, the team are completely dedicated to their passion for quality and excellence features in every bottle – as we say ‘from grape to glass all on site’. The vineyard itself has nine different varieties of grapevine, so as well as the traditional champagne trio of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay; we also grow varieties specially cultivated for cool climates like us up in Yorkshire. Our passion for quality is profoundly exhibited in the hands-on approach taken in nurturing and caring for each vine on the site. This approach is also followed in the winery; as each bottle is filled, corked and capped by hand to ensure that care and pride are taken in each step of the process. However, with continued expansion over the years, Ian and his team are now looking to new and inventive ways to make each task as efficient as possible.
Visitors can enjoy walks around the vineyard, tours of our amazing winery and witness some of the high-tech machinery that the site has invested in and even created over the years. Our team will be on hand to take you through every step of the process.
