Anniversary Exhibition

United Church, Jewry Street, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 8RZ

  • Multiple dates available
  • In person
  • Pre-booking not required

United Church Winchester is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its creation on 8 September 2024. We welcome visitors to see the Grade II interior with various exhibitions and displays.

United Church Winchester will be open to all.

We will have a display of photos and memories of our church and the churches that joined together to make United. Please bring a copy of any photos or memories you want to share to add to our timeline.

The Sanctuary will host an exhibition of textiles on the theme of Creation and Environment. These intricate embroideries were created by Pamela Pavitt. Pamela studied at Bromley Art College and taught textiles in London. She was a member of the Embroiderers' Guild and an Elder in the United Reformed Church. "The elements around us are strong, yet vulnerable. The seas have great power yet we can destroy their environment with our thoughtlessness. The bible show us that at the very beginning humans were instructed to take care of the earth. It’s a great privilege but a great responsibility."
