Industrial heritage of the Whitehaven Coast guided walk

Beacon Museum, Whitehaven Harbour, West Strand, Whitehaven, Cumbria, CA28 7LS

  • 10 Sep 2024
  • In person
  • Pre-booking required

Brought to you by the National Trust for Heritage Open Day. Take in the views and learn about the particular history of the area on a guided walk along the Whitehaven Coast trail.

Join ranger Chris Gomersall as he guides you on a 2 hour walk along the coast while talking about the mining history of the area as well as the stories around the founding of Whitehaven. Take a step back in time as you imagine what it would have been like when the town was a bustling port, busy with imports and exports travelling by sea. Of course, the high view over the sea with the flowering meadows we have been working to restore makes for a picture perfect day everyone can enjoy.
