There will be guides to tell you more about the abundant history of this wonderful site, which is so peaceful and healing with so many secrets to be told. In the courtyard you will see the wonderful Coach house, many storage caves and even the remains of the ‘railway track’ used to smooth the passage of the coal wagon which fed the fires of the house. Down by the River, at the foot of the cliffs, you will see the cave where Guy of Warwick spent the last years of his life as a hermit, possibly ravaged by leprosy after fighting in the Holy Land. Not wishing his beloved wife Felice to see him become disfigured by the disease, he spent three years living apart from her in this humble abode, and eventually died in her arms.
