Our Heritage Open Day event will focus on the role of print advertising in promoting means of communication from the very earliest days, in such areas as transport, wired and wireless communication and everything sent by post.

Visitors can see the vast range of printed advertising in our archive on the them of communication: transport from horse-drawn carriage to supersonic jet, wired and wireless communication from the telegraph to the mobile internet, and post - from personal letters to public posters.

We shall be giving presentations during the day on the vital role of advertising in the development of all these forms of communication.
