A fascinating talk on the development of social housing over the period 1800 to 2000, by Godfrey Holmes

From the work house to the housing of working people; from garden villages to vast estates of municipal housing; from doss houses to tenements, the City of Hull has never been short of social housing initiatives – yet Kingston-upon- Hull is currently very short of social housing! In this talk, local historian Godfrey Holmes attempts to span two centuries of housing families who would otherwise not be housed.
