On Saturday 7th September, Abbey House will be open to the public as part of the Heritage Open Days scheme. Abbey House is the official residence of the Mayor of Winchester, and is not usually open to the public.

The towers are open for the first time in many years after an extensive conservation project.

Lounging elegantly at the top of a slope overlooking Portland Harbour, this extraordinary, 1930's, art-deco house, surrounded by a huge garden and terraces invokes the sophistication and luxury of old-school Hollywood.
Built circa 1578 on the site of an 11th century priory, and now home to a community belonging to the Triratna Buddhist community, Abbey House has a rich history.
Tours of the building and outside areas at 11am and 3pm. Radford House was built in the early 18th century. Drop in throughout the day to see plans for the building and its new use as a community space for Ramsgate. Refreshments available all day.

The flint-walled 13th century chapel and hall of a 'Commandery' of Knights Hospitallers, later converted into a farmhouse. It has a remarkable medieval crown post roof and 16th century ceilings with moulded beams.

Pallant House Gallery will be opening its doors for visitors to explore our collection and experience our current major exhibition The Shape of Things: Still Life in Britain.
Built in 1668, Newent’s black and white Market House has been the centre of the town for over 300 years. It houses a display of local history and a large collection of local artefacts plus music history featuring locals Joe Meek and Rutland Boughton.
This pinnacled gatehouse, elaborately decorated in East Anglian 'flushwork', is the sole survivor of the wealthy Benedictine abbey of St John. It was built around 1400 to strengthen the abbey's defenses following the Peasants' Revolt.

Open to the public for the first time since 2022, Cawsey House is an elegant late-Stuart townhouse in Great Torrington, that once belonged to a wealthy merchant who commissioned one of Devon’s most accomplished plasterers to embellish its main rooms.
Historical documents will be available tracing Unity House's history from its inception as a medical aid centre in 1886, its use as a British restaurant in the war, and its current use after being purchased by Mont Follick MP in 1945.

A special Open Day at Doncaster's eighteenth century Mansion House. There will be guided tours led by costumed volunteer guides, a Children's Discovery trail and a workshop on Georgian dancing in the Ballroom. Tea and coffee will be available.

There has been a house on this site for over 1000 years – and now Westbury is a thriving arts venue. For HODs several resident artists will open their studios so you can explore the old house, see a range of working studios and meet the artists.
The new garden at Hillside House was created in 2020-21. It was opened to the public for the first time during Heritage Open days 2023. This is an opportunity to see how it has changed. The house itself is not open.
A chance to go round the heritage house: the only architectural project of Mackintosh’s open to the public outside Scotland – and are given half hour guided tours. An ordinary Georgian terraced house made extraordinary, by Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
