St Bartholomew, Brighton, is one of the great churches of the 19th century - the cathedral of what used to be called the 'London-Brighton and South Coast Religion' with its incense, ritual, embroidered vestments and lights.

Tours up the 15th-century tower spiral stair (55 steep steps), see the 1670 clock strike twelve, rare 15th-century oak bell frame, fine set of 16th-century and later bells.

Newtimber church is a local parish church with a significant place in global history; with links to the enslavement of Africans in Jamaica, a prominent abolitionist, it also offers a resting place for the souls of the SS Mendi disaster of 1917.
