Explore our world-famous Zoology collection after hours! With children’s colouring activities and friendly guides on hand to answer your questions, join us on a half-billion-year journey through the story of life on Earth!

Established in 1828 by Robert Edmond Grant as a teaching collection for the newly founded University of London (later University College London), the Grant Museum is one of the oldest natural history collections in the UK. Still in use today, we provide teaching and research opportunities for UCL students, and a platform for examining the human impact on biodiversity and the natural world.

Housing over 68,000 zoological specimens covering 500 million years of Earth's history, the museum houses a dazzling array of objects including the world’s rarest skeleton, the quagga; thylacine (Tasmanian Tiger) specimens; dodo bones, fossils, Victorian glass models, a collection of bisected heads and much, much more!

So, join us after hours for an evening exploring fascinating stories from zoological history and journey through the evolution of the natural world; from mammoths to mice and everything in between!

No need to book, just come and explore! Our expert museum guides will be on hand to answer your questions and there will be colouring activities available for children of all ages.
