Volunteers from Friends of Zion Graveyard Attercliffe will be giving hourly talks about the history of this hidden gem, the remarkable people who founded this chapel and the networks they created. With a story that dates back to 1661 this tiny space holds a big history. During the past seven years the site has been transformed from overgrown wasteland to a wildlife sanctuary and every grave uncovered has been researched revealing a fascinating social history including the rise and fall of The Sheffield Smelting Company which has just gone into liquidation after 263 years.

- Head for the free car park opposite Ace Janitorial 694 - 698 Attercliffe Road. Walk past the Auto Repair Garage which was originally Zion Sunday School. There is a small gate to the graveyard at the corner of Lawrence Street and Zion Lane. This opens onto a narrow sloping path with a few steps. For easier level access use the rear entrance at the end of Ferguson Street S9 3WL.
