Lace up your boots at get ready to step through time and all around YSP’s lakes. Starting at the Bothy Gallery, join our knowledgeable heritage volunteers for a walking tour around YSP's historic lakes.

Discover the complete history of the creation of the Bretton Estate lakes that still can be enjoyed today at YSP. Sneak a rare glimpse into the pump house and hear tales of Sir Thomas Wentworth’s boat, the Aurora, which sailed the lakes at the height of the 17th century.

Dress for the weather - hopefully sunglasses and hats! Sturdy and comfortable footwear are required.

Yorkshire Sculpture Park is located 7 miles outside of Wakefield and 20 miles south of Leeds in West Yorkshire. YSP is conveniently located one mile from M1 Junction 38 and is served by Leeds-Bradford, Doncaster-Sheffield and Manchester International Airports, all within a 90-minute drive away. Please note, this tour is not accessible for wheelchair or tramper users. Some outdoor areas of the Park can be difficult to access due to uneven terrain and weather-related changes. Our friendly team at the YSP Centre Information Desk can advise on suggested routes for wheelchair and mobility scooter users. Off-road mobility scooters are available to hire free of charge.
