Withington Baths is Manchester’s last working heritage pool. Thanks to National Lottery Heritage Fund we have been able to do vital repairs to our Edwardian building. Please join us for a free tour of our much-loved building.

Our building dates back to 1911, when the founding stone was laid. We opened our doors in 1913 and in 1914 we became the first pool in Manchester to offer mixed bathing. Fast forward 100 years and our much-loved swimming pool and facilitates were at risk of closure. However, the local community campaigned to keep the building open and in 2015 the charity Love Withington Baths was formed to ensure the future of the baths. The building at this point was in a state of disrepair and with help from the Heritage Fund, we have been able to restore many elements of the building, repairing heritage elements such as the pitched roof over the pool and restoring the beautiful stained-glass windows.
