Enjoy the opportunity to visit Rothley Lakehouse and find out about its history on a short tour and talk.

On Friday 13, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September join a free tour of Wallington's Rothley Lakehouse. Hear all about the role it has played in the Estate's history, from its past a hunting lodge to present day as a holiday cottage.

Rothley Lake itself was inspired by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, who was born in Northumberland and one of Britain’s most famous landscape designers. The house on Rothley Lake was built to be a shooting lodge by the Trevelyan family who had inherited Wallington. Sir Charles Trevelyan donated Wallington Estate to the National Trust to ensure that families could enjoy it for generations to come.

Now as a holiday cottage, this unique place to stay in this unforgettable location is a gem in Northumberland's crown.
