Walks of Life Museum
33 Lincoln Road, Tuxford, Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG22 0HR
There will be an official opening ceremony for the Museum's latest community resource, our Rural Life Barn. Refurbished during 2024, the barn will be the cornerstone of our countryside collection and will feature new displays of agricultural carts and implements. The space will host the Celebration of International Charity Day, to bring the community together to celebrate the good works done locally for charities, and the Chair of the Trust (who works for half the year in Beijing) will give a talk on the Museum's many connections with China and its influence and importance in the development of many facets of life. In addition the Museum farmhouse will be open for guided tours by the Country's Conservation Officer as it undergoes restoration. He will talk about the history of the house as well as the many practical and affordable techniques for sensitively repairing a historic domestic dwelling.
