Walking tour of the old Newhaven Court estate in Cromer with author, Helen Murray
Court Drive, Cromer, Norfolk, NR27 0AY
Newhaven Court was once the grand summer residence of Helen's ancestors, the colourful Locker-Lampson family. Visitors to the house included Lord Tennyson, Shackleton, Churchill and Einstein - and many more! The house burned down in 1963 and is now a residential area. Helen will guide you around the estate, tell stories about the famous guests and, using printed materials and photographs, find the remaining structures, including a gatehouse lodge and boundary wall with datestone. Helen is a local historian and the author of a history of Newhaven Court, published by The History Press in 2022.

We will be starting the walk on the corner of Court Drive, a residential road on an incline. There is a short walk up to the cul de sac on the same road and then to the top of the road and through a rough wooded path at the top of the estate. The rough path may be difficult for wheelchair users or prams to navigate. Please contact me for further information and I will do anything I can to assist.
The estate is residential. Please be considerate of the homeowners when parking.
