Walking tour of Ryhope Village Green with bestselling author Glenda Young showing locations from her books

Join author Glenda Young on a walking tour around Ryhope village green, showing the locations from her bestselling novels. Glenda will be joined by tour guide and local historian Paul Lanagan.
The walk will start at Ryhope Engines Museum at 11.30am on Saturday September 7th. Ryhope Engines Museum is located just off the B1522, three miles south of Sunderland city centre. It is next to Hopewood Park Hospital, and is signposted from several points in Ryhope village.
Address: Ryhope Engines Museum, Waterworks Road, Ryhope, Sunderland, SR2 0ND. Many buses stop at Ryhope village green and it’s just a short 5-10 mins walk to the museum from the bus stop.
The friendly café at the museum opens at 11am which gives you time to enjoy refreshments and use the facilities before we set off on the walk. We will meet outside of the café at 11.30am to start the walk.
The walk will be approx. 1 hour in total.
It will all be on pavements with no rough ground underfoot. The tour will end at Ryhope Engines Museum where once again, if you choose, you can enjoy refreshments, lunch, and a look around this fascinating Victorian water pumping museum which will be having one of their ‘steaming days’ for Heritage Open Days.
