The name Wade existed in the Domesday Book as part of the manor of Warblington. Since 2006 the present owners have been restoring the Japanese and Italian style gardens and ornamental lake. Restoration is ongoing but you are invited to visit

A large house and many outbuildings were constructed in the 19th Century based on existing medieval buildings and a channel was constructed from the Lymbourne Stream. Between 1833 & 1840 Wade Farm became Wade Court. In the late 19th and early 30th centuries the owner, Marshall Nesbitt Inman enlarged the area by purchasing land west of the stream and landscaped the gardens in the Japanese style. Many trees were planted and Parkland landscaped.
Wade Court West, 1/3 of the main property, was acquired by the present owners in 2004 and for eighteen years they have been restoring the gardens, the lake and the pond. The rose garden, the Italian garden and the Japanese garden can now be visited and the water courses seen in their original style.
