A talk and tour exploring two contrasting examples of ecclesiastical Victorian architecture on Parkgate Road. Meeting at the entrance to the University of Chester's historic chapel, and concluding at the John Douglas designed Vicarage.

A chance to visit two of Parkgate Road’s most significant Victorian Buildings, the University Chapel and The John Douglas designed Vicarage. This visit will include an illustrated talk which explores the architecture and visual meaning of each building, and how they reflect local and national ideas about religion and morality during the Victorian Era.

Accessibility details

There is wheelchair access to rear of building but the first floor of the Vicarage building is not accessible. There is no parking but it is possible to drop off and park at university campus.
