Victoria Hall Grade II Listed building was built to celebrate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1886, it has been many things to many people for more than a century, it is now a creative community Hub in Glossop town centre.
Originally built as a reading room, over the years the Hall has hosted, Balls and dances, sporting events like wrestling, political meetings and talks including suffragette meetings, musical, operatic and dramatic performances and heritage talks and events.
The Creative community Hub provides space for conversation, collaboration and creativity.
The Community Arts Centre welcomes friends, professionals and visitors, creative groups and businesses, to socialise, create, exhibit,
rehearse, perform, learn, find support, share and network.
All elements of the centre are creative and community led, from workshops, community support, music, food and drink, exhibitions, events, experiences and volunteering opportunities .
The building is currently run by the volunteers of The Friends of Victoria Hall, offering groups such as Bingo, social groups, digital inclusion sessions as well as craft fairs and other fundraising events.
