Victoria Garden
Brightwells Road, off South Street, Farnham, Surrey, GU9 7RN
This award winning garden in the centre of Farnham was created in 1997 on the site of Farnham’s first open air swimming bath, built in 1897 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. The old pool fell into disrepair after an indoor pool was built at the Leisure Centre in the 1980s, and the site in the middle of the town has been transformed into a quiet and peaceful garden. It is maintained by a group of volunteers who ensure that there is colour and interest all year round. It has a mix of trees, shrubs and flowers, with seating, a children’s maze, a chessboard and a hopscotch bed.
