We're throwing open the doors for Heritage Open Days with our VB Open Weekend!
Entry is free all weekend.

A great opportunity to visit Victoria Baths. No expense was spared in its construction, the building is remarkably intact and you can still discover the beautiful stained glass, rich terracotta, sumptuous tiles, and amazing mosaics. Entry is free on both Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September.

Explore the magnificent swimming and bathing complex, with three pool spaces, Turkish Baths, superintendent's flat, Aeratone, and more to discover. Enjoy the beautiful stained glass windows, amazing wall tiles, and incredible mosaic flooring behind the building's imposing exterior. Our exhibition room gives an overview of the heritage of the Baths, including swimmers of note, the history of the building, and its uses then and now. You can book an optional guided tour for a small fee to discover more about the Baths - available to book on the door or via our website.

Directions:
You can find us on Hathersage Road, M13 0FE about 1½ miles south of Manchester City Centre. For Bus, Train, Tram, and other public transport options visit our website https://victoriabaths.org.uk/about/visit/ If you are visiting by car, we have a small car park (up to 25 spaces) at the rear of the building. There is on-street parking after 6 pm and at weekends in the local area. Alternatively, you can find "Hathersage Multistorey car park" a five-minute walk from the Baths - M13 9WL There are bicycle racks at the front of the building.

Our Discover VB guided tour is available to purchase in advance or on the day. Discover more about the Baths, from the building and its beautiful interiors to the swimmers and local people who made it a landmark for Manchester! Booking is recommended to avoid disappointment, a limited number of tickets will be available on the door. Tour tickets are £9 per person, free for those under 18 (must be accompanied by an adult).

Accessibility details

Our main entrance, the Females Entrance, can be found on the right-hand side of the Baths and is accessible by ramp and stairs. The ground floor of the Baths is accessible but as an old building there are some uneven areas and narrow spaces. The Pool sides are accessible but to enter the Gala Pool and the Females Pool there are a short set of steps. The First Floor is accessible by a staircase, which gives access to the pool balconies and the superintendent's flat. The guided tour can be made accessible - please inform us if you have an access need and have booked a guided tour.

Additional information

Victoria Baths is open for public visits each Wednesday from April – September. Our other weekend events typically charge a fee from £2 - £20. The Heritage Open Days weekender is our only "free weekend" event each year.
