University for the Creative Arts
Falkner Road, Farnham, Surrey, GU9 7DS
The formal study of art in Farnham dates back 170 years to the 1860s when Lieutenant-Colonel John Luard, known as The Scarlet Lancer, founded the first school of art in the town.
The school grew in size and importance over succeeding decades to join first with the Guildford art school, then to become the West Surrey School of Art and Design, then the Surrey Institute of Art and Design, then Farnham University for the Creative Arts and finally the University for the Creative Arts.
Today UCA has state of the art facilities including a glassblowing hotshop, film studios and stop motion animation spaces. The tours guided by knowledgeable technicians will provide a comprehensive view of the campus showcasing these facilities.
