The tour includes a brief presentation on the tyne tunnels before we visit the tunnel's control room. We will then take a journey either through the tunnel (transport provided) to the south extract building where you will get to see the holding tank & pumps that hold the water required in the event of a fire in the tunnels or to the pedestrian & cyclist tunnels to view the historic escalators & tunnels.
Time permitting you will also get the opportunity to experience the emergency escape tunnel by walking a little distance into the tunnel before we return to our offices to finish the tour.
