Torr Vale Mill is hosting an open weekend as part of Heritage Open Days in September. The event showcases the rich history and heritage of the mill, allowing visitors to explore unseen areas and learn about it's significance in the local community.

Activities will include guided tours, exhibitions, and displays highlighting the industrial past of the mill and it's role in shaping the area's identity. Visitors have the opportunity to chat to the owners of the mill and discover the stories behind this historic site, making it a memorable and educational experience for all who attended.

The site has a lot of steps and hills around it. Disabled parking is available and there is wheelchair access to different parts of the site. Please email ahead so that we can provide details: [email protected].

Additional information

There is also a dog-friendly Bistro Bar, Torr Vale Tap, onsite as well as The Cheese Wheel shop who specialise in delicious artisan cheese, craft beer and natural wine. We also have a mill shop onsite, Fields to Fabric, who sell handcrafted/woven items and have a real life working loom from the 1800s. Whilst visiting Torr Vale Mill, you can take a stroll along the Millennium Walkway to explore the Torrs and visit the Torrs Hydro – a reverse Archimedes screw turbine. With plenty of pubs and cafes in the town, there’s plenty to make a day visit!
