A Free Guided Walk along the river highlighting the relationship between river and city through the ages.

The River Wye has always played a central role in the life of our city, and even before settlement began here on it’s banks. A natural wonder, a defence and a threat, a source of food, a route for transport and communication, a resource for industry, trade, tourism and recreation, the river is a precious artery flowing through the city. Join our walk along its banks and learn about the complex relationship between river and city, past present and future.

Accessibility details

The walk starts near the Cathedral and involves some steps, and paths that can be slightly muddy after wet weather.

Additional information

We will be at our stand in Hightown all day but the walk will start promptly at the West Front of the Cathedral. All amenities nearby. Plenty of car parks within walking distance. Public Toilets nearby.
