The Original Bramley Apple Tree
75-77 Church Street, Southwell, Nottinghamshire, NG25 0HQ
NTU is the custodian of the original Bramley apple tree, located in the garden of cottages once used as a butchers shop by Matthew Bramley. Although the tree is extremely old and suffering from honey fungus, it still produces fruit. A member of NTU staff will be able to explain why the tree is so special and discuss research into quality components of the apples it produces.
The original Bramley apple tree was chosen as part of a nationwide network of 70 ancient trees dedicated to The Queen in celebration of the Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
