The Old Grammar School is a listed Tudor building where the history of the building and the town provide an insight into Ledbury's past. Our newly donated Indenture document, a photographic image of which will be seen for the first time during HODS week. The document is an important multiple sheet vellum indenture dated 11th April 1665 from the reign of Charles II. It grants the rights to the Lordship and Manor of Ledbury together with all its rights as granted by Letters Patent under the great seal of Charles I. The document details the lands of the Manor – largely the present-day town, as well as granting rights to rents and profits from tenants, rights to take flour from tenants owning mills and also the rights to hold markets and to take profits from them.
In addition, on 14th September between 11:00 and 12:30, there will be a spinning demonstration.

Heritage Centre is wheelchair & pushchair/pram accessible including the spinning demonstration. The Indenture document exhibition is on the Upper Floor only accessible by stairs.
