The Oakfield Terrace Building Club: a journey into micro history

St Urban's Church, Grove Lane, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS6 2AQ

  • 12 Sep 2024
  • In person
  • Pre-booking required

Join Janet Douglas for a short walk celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Oakfield Terrace Building Club.

Oakfield Terrace is now part of Grove Lane in Headingley. The walk not only looks at the Terrace itself and some of the inhabitants over the years but more widely considers the development of this 'patch' of Headingley. This foray into micro history illustrates the complexities of the processes of suburbanisation and how our built environment is a consequence of many diverse forces.
