Frozen river fun with our 'Skate-Away Day'! When skating was the best way to get from here to there...
Did you know Victorian winters were so cold the river Great Ouse and its nearby fields would freeze over? People used the river to skate from place to place and Huntingdonshire was home to whole dynasties of speed skating stars!
Examine real Victorian skates - complete the river skating quiz - make your own paper plate ice skater!
The Museum's permanent gallery displays a multitude of historic, interesting and quirky artefacts, some having interactive activities and games to stimulate a child's imagination. There is also a changing programme of temporary exhibitions so pop back again to see what's new!
It's a welcoming, accessible and inspiring place to visit for free, run by a friendly and creative team.
