  • Pre-booking required

This walk is a chance to recall the lives of many former residents of the town, such as Lewis Carroll, author of Alice in Wonderland, Edward Carpenter, the social reformer, and Henry Peake, the Borough Surveyor who shaped the town we see today.

The meeting point is in front of the chapel in the lower part of the cemetery. This is just inside the first entrance gate that you come to if you walk up The Mount. Please note that cemetery has no car park and parking on The Mount is limited.

The walk is less than half a mile long within the lower and upper parts of the cemetery with a duration of 90 minutes approx. Please note that to see some of the memorials close up, you will need to walk between the graves on narrow paths with rough grass. You should wear suitable clothing for the prevailing weather conditions.
