Kirkstall Abbey is one of the country's finest and best preserved Cistercian monastic ruins. This illustrated talk will explore the historical events leading up to its foundation.

Jane Abramson is a Kirkstall Abbey guide. She will recount how monks travelled to the site from Citeaux Abbey in France. Why did the Abbey come to be built here in Leeds in 1152? All will be revealed!
