A special exhibition of maps centred on Bampton, Devon from 1579 to the present day with displays about Turnpikes, Mail Coaches and the Railway.

On September 6th and 7th from 1100 to 1600, join us at Bampton Heritage & Visitor Centre, situated within St Michael & All Angels church. You will be able to view our large portfolio map collection, with maps dating from 1579 to the present day, on public display for two days only.  Together with information and images about Turnpikes, Mail Coaches and the Railway you will find a fascinating and comprehensive exploration of our Routes, Networks and Connections.

Accessibility details

There are ramps available to allow full access to the church, just ring the bell by the entrance and our Volunteers will set these up for you. There is a disabled toilet in the block of toilets opposite the church on Station Road.

Additional information

There is a car park on Station Road, there is no charge but a 50p donation is requested. As well as our Bampton Heritage Centre gift shop, with walking books of the area, historical pamphlets and lots more Bampton-related gifts. Bampton has a wealth of cafes and restaurants for refreshments during your visit.
