The Heritage of Wellow – at Wellow's Heritage Centre
Wellow Church Schoolroom, Newark Road, Wellow, Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG22 0EA
Come and immerse yourselves in Wellow's heritage by visiting our heritage centre at Wellow Church Schoolroom. Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and offer drinks, as you enjoy reading our beautiful interpretation boards.
At 12pm a talk will be given by Denis Hill entitled 'The Dukeries', and at 1.30pm a guided walk around Wellow will commence from the Schoolroom. Visitors will be most welcome to take part in these activities and to enjoy spending time in this remarkably well restored Schoolroom.
Wellow, which is well known regionally for its maypole and associated Mayday celebrations, boasts architecture from many different periods from the mediaeval to the twentieth century, including one of the best preserved mediaeval dykes, surrounding the whole village, in the country.
Event closes at 4.00pm
