The Battle of Flodden, the last major Border conflict

The Battle of Flodden (1513) was the last battle in 500 years of Border conflict. A battlefield trail which commences at the Flodden Monument which can be seen at the western end of Branxton village (TD12 4SN) covers the ground over which the battle was fought. A detailed analysis of the Battle will be given at the Flodden Monument which will explain the causes of the Battle, the tactics mistakes and luck during the conflict and the results of the Battle.
Alongside our Heritage Open Days event, a Battlefield Trail Guide App is available on www.flodden.org.uk .The Trail is open 24/7 and a dozen information boards are placed at strategic locations. Questions can be answered at the completion of the trail.
