The Abbey Church of St Mary's

The Abbey has an exciting History, starting as a Priory in the 1100s! It is now a parish church under the episcopal oversight of the See of Oswestry.

We are open from 1030 to 1430, with tea/coffee and biscuits available all day. The historical archive of photographs, pew sheets, letters, and books will be available to view, not only about the Abbey but also about the surrounding streets, schools, and other organisations linked to the Abbey. Volunteers will be on hand to answer your questions and guide you through the ruins. You may be able to help identify some of the faces in our many photographs.

History guidebooks are available to purchase, and the Abbey has a craft stall where items made by our community are available to buy.
