Acclaimed British artist Susie Lidstone will be working on a new painting portraying the Georgian architecture of Farnham at the New Ashgate Gallery, located in the 17th-century Grade II building in the centre of historic Farnham.

Susie Lidstone has been painting for 30 years and works from her small studio in Farnham. Susie trained in Fine Art Printmaking at West Surrey College of Art and Design and has gone on to accept commissions from all over the world. Susie is among only a few women worldwide to be a full member of The Society of Architectural Illustration. Fascinated by the architecture of Farnham and all its alleyways, Susie enjoys capturing the hidden parts of Farnham and the shops that have gone but form so much of the market town's history.

The New Ashgate Gallery is located in Waggon Yard - in 2016 the Trust celebrated its 50th anniversary in the 17th-century Grade II building in the centre of the Farnham Craft Town. Over the years, the gallery has administered the profits from craft and art sales to create prizes and scholarships and for the purchase of artworks for local and national museums. It was one of the first provincial galleries to show artists with an international reputation and support local talent. Today, New Ashgate Gallery is a destination for viewing and buying the best affordable contemporary art and craft by established and emerging artists and makers. The Gallery curates twenty annual exhibitions and is dedicated to championing the best art and craft in the marketplace, showcasing more than 200 artists and makers.
