Suffolk energy-from-waste facility
Suffolk energy-from-waste facility, Lodge Lane, Great Blakenham, Suffolk, IP6 0JE
Since 2014, this award-winning energy-from-waste facility has been putting Suffolk’s non-recyclable household waste to good use - now generating enough electricity to power 50,000 houses. Run in partnership between SUEZ and Suffolk County Council, this facility plays a big part in the sustainable management of waste in the county. The facility processes 295,000 tonnes of waste each year, generating electricity for the national grid and bottom ash for the construction industry. You will also be able to visit our control room and purpose-built visitors' centre. There are 18 spaces on each tour, so booking is essential!
