Stourport Heritage Port
Stourport Yacht Club, Engine Lane, Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire, DY13 9EP
Stourport grew up around James Brindley's canal basins and the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal that connected Black Country manufacturing areas with the export port of Bristol. The Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal was granted by act of Parliament on 14 May 1766. The canal opened to Stourport in 1771 and by 1812 the five canal basins had been built.
You can visit historic vessels, Stourport Yacht Club (a Grade II listed former warehouse with a beautiful clock tower), join walks around the heritage sites, and see displays from members of the waterways community.
