Curiosities in a small church.

St Wilfrid's Church transformation has uncovered many exciting and interesting facts about our Anglo-Saxon church building, the Knights Hospitaller who owned the church from 1165 to 1540, the churchyard, people, and our village.

The weekend will include an exhibition of some of the best things we have discovered, including our alabaster effigy of a priest, the anchorite who lived in the church, our plague pits and many more exhibits. These will be displayed in the church, and two guided tours will take place over the weekend: "Our historic village" - Saturday 14th September and "Our mediaeval grave yard" - Sunday 15th September. The exhibition will be located in the church building, and Cream Teas will be available to buy in the church over the weekend whilst the exhibition and tours are on.
