St Thomas' Church, Church View, Brompton, Northallerton, North Yorkshire, DL6 2QT
Brompton parish church has a 1000 year history and the village is mentioned in Domesday. Five Anglo Danish hogback stones, of an original eleven found here, are displayed in the church along with Anglo Saxon sculpture: a ninth century cross shaft, two complete wheel head crosses and three other fragments of wheel head crosses. There are several stained glass windows, including one by Kempe, commemorating the Pattison family - owners of one of two linen mills established in the village in the middle of the 19th century. The aluminium reredos was designed by Pace in 1965.
The 15th century perpendicular tower houses a peal of eight bells which may be rung on the day (TBC).
Volunteer stewards will be on hand to answer questions.
You can take part in a village trail where you will see evidence of much of Brompton's rich heritage.

Toilets will be available at Brompton Methodist Church Wheelchair access via the lychgate on the east side of the churchyard. There is on street parking nearby
