A birthday party to celebrate 100yrs of our fabulous history - the party takes place in the garden at the end of the walking tour on Saturday 7th September. If the weather is inclement the celebration will take place in the hall.
Ever wondered why the Priests have different coloured Vestments, and what all the Holy Vessels are called? Come and see our displays and learn about the Liturgical times of year and the celebration of the Eucharist, the most important aspect of our faith. There will be some everyday day Vestments worn during todays Masses and some really heavy ornate vestments of yesteryears.
Discover our connections to Lady Southwell who donated the land on which the church was built, the Blounte Family, the charge of the Light Brigade and marvel at the stained glass windows designed by Paul Woodroffe.
The Church is of Gothic Perpendicular style and has two amazing reredos' with such intricate carving, a crenelated Tower and a fabulous roof scape. Climb the tiny stairs to the organ loft and listen to the peel of Bells calling the Angelus, the call to mass and more.
A programme of events and a history booklet will be available.
