A celebration of creativity set in a beautiful and historic church, incorporating: An sale of local arts and crafts; Self-guided tours of the building and churchyard.

St Michael’s is a beautiful and historic building, parts of which date back to the twelfth century. It was extensively remodelled in the mid-Victorian era by the church architect George Street, and amongst many other interesting features boasts a fine Arts and Crafts stained glass window by William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones, beautiful sculptures, and the ornate Jacobean tomb of the merchant and royal jeweller Peter Vanlore.

As part of the Heritage Open Days programme, this stunning setting is opening its doors for a celebration of creativity, with a sale of arts and crafts from Tilehurst and the surrounding area. There will also be self-guided tours of the church and an opportunity to explore the churchyard with its monuments to several notable Reading residents including the Blagrave family. Refreshments will be available.
