St. Michael and St. Mary Magdalene Church
Crowthorne Road, Bracknell, Berkshire, RG12 7ER
A church of many interesting parts. 5 windows by Burne-Jones, manufactured by Morris and co, also windows by Wailes, Lavers & Westlake, Kempe and others; much opus sectile work in the Sanctuary; silver including a chalice of 1570 will be displayed. Some interesting small stone carvings can be found. The church was rebuilt in 1867 replacing a derelict one previously repaired after the commonwealth in the later 1660s; the lower part of the tower was constructed then. The first record is in 1157 but how long a church had already been there is unknown. Ad hoc tours, on demand, of church and/or churchyard where there are several interesting burials.
