Nineteenth century barn consecrated as a church in 1930.

St Michael's Barn Church, tucked away in Farley Green, is one of four churches in the Parish of Albury, Guildford and was built between 1840 and 1840. In 1929, Clara Courtenay-Wells gifted the Barn to the local community, which was to be converted into a church as a memorial to her husband, the local farmer of Cherrymans Farm. It was dedicated as a Chapel of Ease in 1930. The St Michael's Church Fabric Fund Trust was formed in the mid-1980s to support the Parochial Church Council with maintenance costs through annual appeals and fund-raising activities.

Through their efforts, the Trust has been able to extend the building's use within the community, providing an extension to the lobby, accessible to wheelchair users with toilet facilities and a kitchenette with a storeroom. The Trust restructured in 2017 as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and is now known as The Friends of St Michael's Barn Church. Since then the barn has been re-clad, furniture and paintings restored, the garden replanted, a water supply laid on and heaters replaced.

The Building is the centre of our village, which celebrates the major festivals, and regularly open for young childrens' Little Fishes mornings and occasional Messy services. The Trust's active fund-raising team continues to provide community events - workshops, quizzes, Food Bank Cafes, art exhibitions and craft shows, and is now regularly open on a Saturday for visitors and quiet reflection.
