The present parish church of St Michael and All Angels was consecrated in 1886, and is the third church on this site. Designed in the Early English style, the architect was J L Pearson who also designed Truro Cathedral. Some of the stained glass windows were transferred from the earlier church of 1838, while new windows were designed by John H Powell and made by John Hardman and Co. of Birmingham. The church contains a fine carved reredos behind the High Altar. This was designed by Temple Moore and built by Thompson and Sons of Peterborough. It contains 21 figures which include Jesus, St Michael the Archangel, St George and eighteen English saints. There is also a lovely Lady Chapel.
